Chili Crisp Beef Bowls

This is the type of recipe I'm always craving: a little spicy, a little sweet, super flavorful ground beef with fresh crispy veggies all covered in spicy mayo. I love chili crisp oil and put it on basically everything, so making it the star of the sauce for this bowl was a delicious idea. If you're worried about this being too spicy, you can reduce the amount of chili crisp in the sauce and just add a little more sesame oil!

Notes

NOTES

  • Chili crisp oil can be found in the Asian section of many grocery stores. My favorite is this one. You can use the Chili Onion Crunch Oil from Trader Joes. You can also find it here on Amazon.

LAZY VERSION

  • Skip the green onions.

  • Use a microwave rice packet.

SUBSTITUTIONS

  • Instead of these veggies- you can use whatever raw veggies you like! Shredded carrots would be yummy.

  • Don't like raw veggies? Add veggies into the ground beef to cook! Basically any veggie would work. Chop them small and add to the skillet at the same time as the green onion.

  • Sub for coconut aminos: low sodium soy sauce

  • Sub for green onions: 1/4 any onion, or omit

STORAGE

  • Allow everything to come to room temp and then store in airtight containers. I like using these containers to keep the veggies separate from the beef and rice.

  • Store the spicy mayo separately- I like using these containers.

REHEATING

  • Remove rice and beef from your meal prep container and add to a bowl. Heat for 1-2 minutes, stirring halfway through. Then add the veggies and spicy mayo.

Delicious! I stir fried my veggies in the same pan as the burger, so veggies picked up some of the flavor from the sauce. Using Primal Kitchen creamy Sriracha sauce. Wasn’t sure about the spice level, but it is just right for me.

So yummy! I subbed shelled edamame for the veggies so I could heat it all up as an easy lunch at work.
